Workplace Drug Testing

ScentTECH takes pride in the fact that we adhere to the most up-to-date standards and practices. Our Workplace Drug Testing is verified and fully compliant with saliva drug standard NZS 4760:2019 and urine drug standard NZS 4308:2008.

Our staff hold Unit Standards:
– 32327: Perform oral fluids specimen collection in the workplace
– 32328: Perform oral fluids drug screening in the workplace
– 25458: Perform urine specimen collection in the workplace
– 25511: Perform urine drug screening in the workplace

Confirmation testing (Oral Fluid & Urine) is performed by an IANZ accredited laboratory.

Around 15 per cent of workplace injuries worldwide can be attributable to drug and alcohol use. This is why drug and alcohol testing, as part of a robust workplace drug and alcohol management program, is a must for all New Zealand businesses serious about the safety of their employees.

As a business, you are required under Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, to provide employees with the highest level of protection from risks as is reasonably practicable. This includes dangerous behaviour resulting from drug or alcohol use.

ScentTECH uses the Dräger DrugTest® 5000 for oral-fluid drug testing. This product has been independently verified by the NATA accredited Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine and found to be compliant with the new standard AS/NZS 4760:2019.

German engineered and produced, the product was found to be compliant for the drug classes Amphetamines, Methamphetamines, Cannabinoids, Benzodiazepines, Opiates, and Cocaine.

Since its market launch in 2008, the Dräger DrugTest® 5000 has become widely used the world over, including in Australia and New Zealand. Five Australian Police jurisdictions use the product for roadside drug testing, while many organisations in the mining, logistics, and manufacturing industries use it to keep workplaces safe.
